Meow Bow Wow Fund Reimbursement Guidelines
Use of Funds and Reimbursement
The Meow Bow Wow Fund will reimburse qualifying non-profit rescue organizations for the spaying and/or neutering of adoptable dogs and/or cats and for the vaccination of dogs and/or cats commensurate with requirements for adoption. Reimbursable costs shall include anesthesia, medication, vaccinations, and veterinary services. Funding will not be available for feral cat spay/neuter programs.
In 2008, the maximum amount of a reimbursement award will be $500 per organization. No more than one award will be made annually per qualifying organization. Awards will be allotted at the sole discretion of WellPetUSA. Reimbursements will be made for past medical expenses only and will require proof of services performed.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for reimbursement from the Meow Bow Wow Fund, the applicant organization must be: - A non-profit organization qualified as a charitable organization under Section 501 c (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
- Receive less than $25,000 in annual contributions.
- Have a valid U.S. physical address.
- Be actively engaged in the rescuing and re-homing of adoptable animals.
- Be committed to reducing the unwanted animal population by supporting the spaying and neutering of adoptable companion animals. Use of low-cost spay/neuter services are encouraged.
Required Documentation
Applicants must provide: - Verification of non-profit status: 501 c (3) federal exempt tax number.
- Brief description of the organization to include mission statement, description of the organization's rescue operations and website (if applicable).
- Supporting documentation for each spay/neuter procedure and vaccination that is being requested for reimbursement: An invoice showing payment rendered for the procedure, the facility permit number of the performing facility and the veterinary license number of the veterinarian that performed the procedure.
- References from individuals who have adopted a pet from your rescue and from your veterinarian.
Funding Period
Applications for 2009 Meow Bow Wow reimbursements will open in April 2009.
